Medieval sculptures

Capitello con Re e Silvia

In this section all the stone material of Rimini from the 8th to the 13thcenturies has been collected, with the exceptiono of some gruops, belonging almost certainly to early Christian buildings or the ancient Cathedral (Santa Colomba), that will be displayed into specific exhibition rooms. There are almost forty fragments of various typology, generally not of great dimensins, with symbolic motives, partly deriving from the early Christian art, with “barbaric” decorations.
